Who's The Best Actor in Virgin River? Reddit Has a Surprising Answer
One actress managed to surprise the audience.
Since 2019, Netflix's Virgin River has been one of the best melodramas out there, as fans loved the feel-good atmosphere of a sleepy Northern California town where passions and dramas regularly collide. Moreover, the central romance between disillusioned LA nurse Mel and former US Marine Jack was so compelling that it allowed the audience to overlook some of the show's most serious problems — poor pacing, tedious storylines, and mediocre acting by the supporting cast.
However, one of the actresses still managed to surprise fans with her performance, and we are not talking about Alexandra Breckenridge.
While the star of the show is certainly a great actress, viewers are much more impressed with Stacey Farber, the Canadian actress who plays Tara, one of the residents of Virgin River. Even though Tara's role in the show is quite limited, that doesn't stop Farber from stealing every scene she's in.
Accomplished Actress
While not many people in the US may know Farber, she is a pretty big deal in Canada, having starred in hit shows like Saving Hope and The Spencer Sisters. For a long time, the actress starred alongside Drake on the iconic Canadian show Degrassi: The Next Generation.

It looks like it was important for Farber to finally make it in the States, so she agreed to the small role on Virgin River, impressing American audiences with her performance as Tara.
A Tough Scene to Rewatch
Virgin River is largely considered a feel-good show, but it still has its dark moments from time to time, and Tara was at the center of one of the series' most depressing scenes.
The moment when Tara finds her mother Lily dead in her bed really made the audience shiver, and it was Farber's performance that made the scene work. Even now, fans are reluctant to watch that scene again, even though the actress was simply phenomenal in it.
'I think Tara is a good actress. She just isn't given much. I honestly refuse to rewatch the scene where she finds Lily. Too depressing,' a fan said, echoing the sentiment of many.
