The young star definitely deserved her dance to go viral.

Netflix's Wednesday was one of last year's highlights, thanks to a bold new take on the beloved Addams Family and a fantastic lead performance from newcomer Jenna Ortega.

However, we'd be remiss not to acknowledge that a significant portion of viewers decided to check out the show after seeing Jenna Ortega's quirky dance to The Cramps' Goo Goo Muck or Lady Gaga's sped-up Bloody Mary. People were enthralled by the dance, recreating it on TikTok or simply gushing over Ortega's stunning moves in the scene.

While the majority of the fandom praised the choreographer for perfectly capturing Wednesday's unique personality, it has recently been revealed that professional dancers had little to do with the way the scene turned out.

Recently, Wednesday creators Al Gough and Miles Millar revealed surprising details about how the scene came about. For instance, it turns out that Tim Burton chose the Goo Goo Muck song for the dance and played the tune for the producers on a whim, it just occurred to him, and there was never any selection process for it. But more intriguingly, Ortega created the dance sequence for her character herself!

‘That's her dance. The whole dance. There was a choreographer, but he basically went to Jenna and was like, 'I'm sure you'll come up with something great.' And that was literally it,’ Gough said.

Fans are understandably astonished by this revelation, wondering how Ortega could have come up with such sophisticated and instantly viral dance moves on the spot. The young actress seems to have become a sensation for a good reason, as there aren't many actors out there who could have spontaneously created a dance of this calibre.

However, this revelation undoubtedly puts pressure on Ortega, as fans now expect to see another iconic dance from her in the upcoming second season. She'll be tasked with inventing it all over again since audiences are familiar with her style and may suspect foul play if a choreographer gets involved.

Wednesday Season 2 has yet to begin filming, so fans will probably have to wait until 2024 to see what Jenna Ortega's character is up to.
