Fans tend to relate to one character of the main duo.

Netflix's Ginny & Georgia has unexpectedly become one of the most popular melodramas on the streaming service this year, all thanks to the stellar second season that proved there was more to the story than just following the lives of a mother and a daughter 15 years apart in age.

However, even with the show's amazing viewership numbers, some fans still treat it as light entertainment, watching it for all the cringey teen drama Ginny & Georgia so often boasts. But that doesn't mean the series' characters aren't relatable, and millions of viewers claim that Ginny is the one character they most emphasize with.

While Georgia may be considered a much stronger character than her daughter, it is Ginny who has become the biggest reason to watch the show for many fans out there. Yes, she is quirky, complicated and messed up, but her search for love and acceptance makes her story resonate with many viewers out there, who recognize themselves as teenagers in Ginny and her sometimes weird behavior.

'[I] probably relate to Ginny more because I understand being a new student, some struggles with race/identity and the entire thing with having issues with a mother who is mentally unstable and quite frankly unfit to provide for a family in a healthy manner despite being well-intentioned,' a viewer shared on Reddit, echoing the opinion of many in the fandom.

Even though Ginny is struggling with her relationships with her mom, boyfriend, and friends on a daily basis, her story rings true for a lot of people, and other characters are just not on the same level of character development as her.

Speaking of other characters, Ginny's boyfriend Marcus also appealed to viewers at first, but after he cheated on his ex-girlfriend Padma and mistreated Ginny herself, fans began to hate the guy, arguing that he feels more like a prop designed by professional screenwriters to appeal to teenagers, not an actual human being. On the contrary, Ginny comes across as much more alive and compelling as a character, which is why fans are so concerned about her relationship with Marcus.

Lastly, we cannot but praise actress Antonia Gentry for her brilliant portrayal of Ginny, which makes the character so relatable to millions of fans.
