Depp still has a few tricks up her sleeve.

Having two famous actors for parents may sound like a fairy tale to some, but Lily-Rose Depp is clearly struggling with her father's fame as she tries to build a career in Hollywood on her own. And while she was playing small parts in various European productions and a couple of Kevin Smith's B-movies, Depp made a big bet on HBO's The Idol, co-created by Sam Levinson and The Weeknd.

On paper, The Idol looked like the perfect project to launch the young actress' career, but we all know how that show turned out in the end.

Since Lily-Rose Depp was the one filming nude scenes on the show, many fans were quick to accuse the co-creators of predatory behavior towards her, wondering why the actress didn't leave the show right after showrunner Amy Seimetz was fired by Levinson and The Weeknd.

'I don't blame her one bit [...] She was doing the job she was contractually obligated to do. I actually feel for her [...], she is either naked or half-naked throughout the show,' one fan commented on Reddit. 'She probably thought that [The Idol] was going to be her breakout role, and I know she is not the best actress but her acting wasn't the worst part of the show.'

After such a huge disappointment, some people decided that Depp's career as an actress was already over, arguing that Levinson and The Weeknd's controversial series ruined her chances of making it big in Hollywood. But is that really true?

Luckily, it looks like Lily-Rose Depp has more than enough opportunities to redeem herself, as she is currently filming two highly anticipated projects.

First, the actress stars alongside Renate Reinsve and Squid Game's HoYeon Jung in Joe Talbot's upcoming provocative film The Governesses, which is sure to be a big hit on the festival circuit next year. Depp's other ongoing project is Robert Eggers' reimagining of Nosferatu, which also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Nicholas Hoult, Bill Skarsgård, Emma Corrin, and Willem Dafoe.

With two promising movies already in production, rest assured that Lily-Rose Depp's career will be just fine, at least for now.
