X-Men Star Reignites Hopes for Marvel Comeback After Missing Avengers: Doomsday
Halle Berry rules out Avengers: Doomsday but leaves the door wide open for Storm, reigniting X-Men comeback buzz just as Marvel revisits its legacy heroes.
Halle Berry just put the Avengers: Doomsday rumor to bed. She is not in it. The door to Storm, though? Still wide open.
No Storm in Doomsday
Marvel Studios is pulling some familiar faces from Fox's X-Men era into Avengers: Doomsday, but Berry's Storm is not one of them. The Oscar winner, who played Storm across the original X-Men trilogy, confirmed she is not involved with the movie.
How she feels about Storm (and why it still matters to her)
Berry spoke recently about what the character means to her and why those movies still hit at home for her family. She called Storm a role she was lucky to play and pointed to the X-Men's outcast themes as the kind of thing she's been proud to show her kids over the years.
"Yeah, I love that. Storm is a very special character to me. I've been so blessed when I gotten to play her."
But she is absolutely open to coming back
Berry made it clear she would suit up again if asked. In her words:
"And while I'm sad I won't be in Doomsday this round, there are other rounds. And I would do that in a heartbeat."
That "other rounds" line has fans wondering if it hints at reshoots or some future Marvel project. Studios keep that stuff under wraps until they do not, so take it for what it is right now: interest from Berry, no official confirmation from the studio.
Bottom line: she is not in Avengers: Doomsday, but she is game to return as Storm if the call comes. For now, file it under hopeful, not happening.
