Will Bridgerton Season 3 Release Be Delayed Because of Strikes?
It looks like the show won't be coming back anytime soon.
Needless to say, no other show, with the possible exception of The Squid Game, is as eagerly awaited as Netflix's Bridgerton, whose Season 3 premiere has been anticipated for quite some time. Even though Netflix decided to break the internal chronology of Julia Quinn's novels, preferring to adapt Penelope and Colin's love story first, fans didn't hate the streaming giant for it, and are still eager to see their beloved characters again.
And while the release of Bridgerton Season 3 until the end of 2023 seemed like a done deal just a few months ago, the same can't be said for the current times, as the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes rage on in Hollywood, delaying the release of numerous high-profile shows and movies - but will it affect Bridgerton?
A complicated release
While filming for the upcoming season of the period drama has long since wrapped and was not affected by the strikes at all, Netflix could still delay the show's release, which would upset fans quite a bit.
The problem is that because of the strikes, the actors working on the show are not only prohibited from doing any reshoots, but also from promoting the projects that have already been completed.
Yes, the Bridgerton stars can't do interviews, press junkets, panels, or even post about their shows on their social media.
Because of this, Netflix executives will basically have no way to promote the third season of Bridgerton, since they can't even use the actors' faces on promotional posters and the like. With that in mind, it's very likely that the producers will delay the release of Bridgerton Season 3 until 2024, as it's not possible to promote the show without the actors.
While some fans might argue that Bridgerton is already a massively successful show with millions of fans, it's only natural that a huge corporation like Netflix will try to get as much money as possible from their big show, and without any marketing, new fans won't decide to watch Bridgerton, don't you think?
