It looks like some changes need to be made to keep the show going in the future.

The CBS series Blue Bloods has become an unlikely success story, as the crime series, once predicted to be canceled and forgotten after the first couple of seasons, has managed to blossom into a truly popular show that is currently in its 13th season.

People love the realistic family dynamics shown in the show and are hoping that CBS will decide to renew the series for a 14th season, although there is no indication that the network plans to do so.

However, fans are still sure that the Blue Bloods team could force CBS to renew the show by making some painful budget cuts. While saving money on cameras, sets and production is simply not possible, as CBS will refuse to air the show if it doesn't look good, there is only one possible area where the budget could be cut – the actors.

After more than a decade on the air and continued success, it is perfectly normal for all the main actors' salaries to be raised significantly, but after some time, spending so much money on the cast might get a little expensive.

While people like Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg are safe from being fired because their characters are responsible for the show's success, some other actors are in quite a bit of danger of being asked to leave.

Fans argue that the most logical choice of actor to be let go is Len Cariou, who plays everyone's favorite grandfather, Henry Reagan. While the character is obviously beloved by the fandom, his storyline has stagnated a bit, and since he is almost 90 years old, his death will be the most logical.

While it would be heartbreaking to say goodbye to Henry, who has been an integral part of the family since the very first episode, fans will surely support such a sacrifice if it would lead CBS to renew the show for Season 14.

Blue Bloods Season 13 Episode 16 will arrive on CBS on March 31, 2023.
