Why is Everyone Convinced Soldier Boy's Going to Die in Gen V?
Fans fear for the character's life.
The long-awaited The Boys spin-off Gen V finally premiered early last month and has already proven to be a worthy sequel to the beloved original series, delighting fans with interesting superpowers, great character development and plenty of blood.
It also looks like the Gen V creative team is determined to surprise fans with each new episode, going out of their way to shock viewers with interesting callbacks or shocking cameos. And it seems that Season 5 will be the best example of this strategy.
Early last week, Gen V's official X account posted a video featuring Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy, confirming that the divisive superhero would be appearing in the show's upcoming episode and sending shockwaves through the fandom.
Fans are scared
While it wasn't explained how and why Soldier Boy would appear in the spin-off, fans began to fear for his life for no apparent reason, arguing that some of the superpowered teens might kill the first Supe in the upcoming episode. Needless to say, such an idea seems a bit preposterous, considering that Ackles' addition to the show really boosted The Boys' ratings, and he will surely return for Season 5.
However, fans have actually been able to come up with a pretty believable theory as to why Soldier Boy will be in Gen V, and it's pretty crazy.
A shocking revelation
The thing is, fans of the new show are more than certain that Soldier Boy won't actually appear in the upcoming episode, even though Ackles will certainly be playing this character. While such an idea might sound a bit confusing at first, it can be easily explained - Rufus, one of the main characters of Gen V, is a powerful telepath, and fans are sure that he will manifest Soldier Boy's image for some unknown reason.
Yes, it looks like Soldier Boy won't have any impact on the story of Gen V and will only be used in a hallucination scene, which will surely delight the viewers and boost the ratings of episode 5.
Gen V Season 1 Episode 5 will premiere on Amazon Prime on October 20, 2023.
