When Calls The Heart Stretching Elizabeth & Lucas' Wedding Out to Season 11?

While the Hallmark Channel is best known as the home of those Christmas-themed romantic movies that could give you cavities, it also has a number of popular shows in its library, with When Calls The Heart being the most popular of all.

The story of Elizabeth, a schoolteacher from a respectable family who moves to the Canadian frontier to teach the children in a small coal-mining town, instantly appealed to fans, and the melodrama managed to excite them with each new installment.

Now in its 10th season, When Calls The Heart shows no signs of slowing down, though some fans would have loved to see Elizabeth finally settle down with a man and bid the show farewell for good.

A fitting candidate

Fans' hopes of seeing Elizabeth with somebody were answered in season 6 when Lucas, a businessman and owner of a local saloon, was introduced to the show. This dashing man quickly captured Elizabeth's attention, and the two courted for a few seasons before agreeing to marry.

So when season 10 finally arrived, fans were dying to see a wedding episode, wondering how the dashing Elizabeth would look in her wedding dress. But since When Calls The Heart is a melodrama, it was only natural that there would be some pre-wedding drama.

A love triangle

While at the start of the season it looked like Lucas and Elizabeth would marry for sure, the fact that she started flirting with Nathan really threw that idea out the window, with fans wondering if Elizabeth would choose to marry Lucas at all, as her guilt over Nathan's unrequited love for her might drive her insane.

Fans are now certain that the writers will drag the wedding storyline into Season 11, keeping the intrigue alive in hopes of boosting the show's ratings. While fans are obviously upset about this, they are still confident that Elizabeth will choose Lucas over Nathan because they look so much better together.
