The sports icon disappeared from mainstream Hollywood, where's she now?

Just three years ago, MMA legend Gina Carano was considered a rare example of a professional athlete turning to acting full-time and hitting it big.

After retiring from the octagon, Carano tried her luck on the silver screen and hit a gold mine with a starring role in Steven Soderbergh's Haywire, one of the most acclaimed action films of the past decade. After that, Carano's career skyrocketed, as she appeared in movies like Deadpool and Kickboxer: Vengeance, but it wasn't until she joined The Mandalorian as Cara Dune that she finally proved her worth as an actress to all the naysayers.

Her time at the top didn't last long, however, as some of Gina's offensive tweets resurfaced, and Lucasfilm decided to terminate her contract after she compared being a conservative in 2021 to being a Jew in Nazi Germany. While her comments were indeed quite strange, many people are still unsure if Hollywood should have destroyed her career overnight.

Since being fired from The Mandalorian, Carano has only appeared in two projects, the first of which was a rather boring revisionist Western called Terror on the Prairie. The film looked like a B-project from the start, so no one was surprised that it turned out to be a completely uninteresting watch.

Gina Carano's second project after being blacklisted proved to be truly controversial — Robert Davi's My Son Hunter, a fictional retelling of the scandalous life of President Biden's troublemaker of a son. And while the movie was destroyed upon its initial release, fans are slowly turning it into a cult favorite, all thanks to the sensitive subject matter and Laurence Fox's interesting take on the role of Hunter.

Sadly, it looks like Gina Carano's career will not blossom again after these two movies. Blacklisted and without an agent to promote her in Hollywood, she can only rely on her $4-million net worth and her skills as a fighter to eventually push herself back into the octagon.

An unfortunate end to a once-promising career!
