Fans are wondering if the beloved ballet dancer will appear in the spin-off.

Sex and The City was one of the most popular shows of its era, talking frankly about sex and other hot topics and breaking down television barriers. Thanks to the series' popularity, many big-name stars were keen to join the project, appearing in cameo roles throughout SATC's stellar six-season run.

Of all the celebrities who appeared on the show, Latvian-American ballet dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov was certainly the most surprising. The world-renowned Soviet defector played Aleksandr Petrovsky, one of Carrie Bradshaw's boyfriends in the original SATC series, and some fans are now wondering if Baryshnikov could reprise his role in the series' spin-off And Just Like That…

Given that Carrie and Petrovsky broke up just before she finally married Mr. Big and the character's arc was perfectly wrapped up in the final season, there is virtually no reason for Baryshnikov to return to his role in the sequel. However, it's obvious that HBO would be more than happy to have an important person like Baryshnikov on their show, even if it makes no sense at all.

In addition, Baryshnikov has a pretty close association with HBO, appearing not only in The Sex and The City, but also in the short-lived comedy show Doll & Em, playing himself for five episodes.

Unfortunately, the producers of And Just Like That… never mentioned the possibility of Baryshnikov appearing in the show, which means that the dancer wasn't even contacted about a possible return. On top of that, Baryshnikov is now 75 years old and hasn't appeared on screen in nearly a decade. With his humanitarian work helping survivors of the Ukrainian war, he may be too busy right now to waste his time on a show about three women looking for love in New York.

Anyway, And Just Like That… Season 2 is finally on the air, and although some viewers hate the new supporting characters stealing the spotlight from the main trio, the show is still loved by millions of fans all over the world. And if the current season proves to be a success, who knows, perhaps Mikhail Baryshnikov will make an appearance in the upcoming third season.

Episode 3 of And Just Like That… Season 2 is set to premiere on June 29, 2023.
