It turns out that Jenna Ortega came up with the iconic dance moves on the spot.

Last year, Netflix achieved massive success when it released a series focused on one of the most popular teenage characters in the world: Wednesday Addams. Many fans initially worried that the show would tarnish the beloved franchise's legacy; however, Jenna Ortega's outstanding performance was welcomed with enthusiasm by both fans and critics alike.

And clearly, Ortega's now iconic dance was a key element in making the series an overnight sensation, seeing how her quirky moves immediately went viral the world over.

The goth girl going wild to The Cramps' Goo Goo Muck took TikTok by storm, trending for months after the show's release. It was after seeing the dance that millions of viewers ended up binge-watching the show as they wanted to see more of Ortega and see the iconic scene again. Many people praised the production crew for choreographing the dance, but as it turns out, it was all Jenna Ortega's doing.

'That's her dance. The whole dance. I swear to God. There was a choreographer, but he basically went to Jenna and was like, "I'm sure you'll come up with something great." And that was literally it,' showrunner Al Gough said.

Apparently, Jenna went ahead and improvised the dance moves herself, drawing inspiration from the song to get into the right mood. The show's choreographer let Ortega go to town with it, recognising the young actress's talent and trusting that she could deliver a flawless performance. The only question that remains is who picked the Cramps track for the scene.

Gough shared that he and his team put together a playlist for director Tim Burton to choose from. After hearing another track by The Cramps, Burton immediately thought of Goo Goo Muck and decided to use it in the scene.

Thanks to the impeccable collaboration between Burton and Ortega, Wednesday Addams fans were treated to a perfect scene that attracted many viewers who were previously unaware of the show's existence, as they discovered it through the numerous TikToks featuring the iconic dance sequence.
