Virgin River Fans Are So Ready to Get Rid of Charmaine in Season 6

Since 2019, Netflix's Virgin River has been a standout feel-good show in the streaming giant's catalogue. Fans have grown to love characters like Jack and Mel and have been captivated by the serene atmosphere of a quiet Northern California town. However, there's one character who consistently disrupts the idyllic setting - Charmaine. In the show's first season, Charmaine was already pregnant with twins. Despite fans' expectations that the children would be born by the end of Season 2, she's still pregnant with them in the first half of Season 5!
While viewers are confident that Charmaine will finally give birth in the remaining episodes of the current season, they're also hoping that her story will finally be wrapped up and she will leave the show. Here's why viewers are so keen to see Charmaine go.
Obnoxious
Although Charmaine was somewhat liked in the show's early seasons, she was always a bit odd, and her character became increasingly off-putting in later seasons. Fans were appalled by her actions in Season 4 when she tried to deceive Jack into believing the twins were his, knowing full well they were Calvin's children.
Charmaine was trying to get back together with Jack, but her abhorrent tactics to achieve that goal turned her into a widely disliked character. Her continued antics in the first half of Season 5 only reinforced this sentiment.
'Jack bought a house because of her, which then burns down and then has to pay a retainer to what was apparently a top tier attorney so that he could gear up for a custody fight with her. This is just the financial part. The hoops she had both him and Mel jumping through to cater to her is truly insane,' a fan said.
Dramatic Send-off
Despite their dislike for Charmaine, fans are somewhat concerned that the writers might kill her off. They argue that even a character as obnoxious as Charmaine doesn't deserve to die while giving birth to her children. Fortunately, Charmaine will survive her pregnancy in the second part of Season 5, slated for release on 30 November. She will remain in Virgin River, seeking happiness away from painful memories.
