Two characters have stolen the show, and now they're all we want to see.

Season 1 of the teen romance series revolved around 'Belly' as she spent the summer with family friends, as she had done all her life. But this time, viewers watched on as sparks began to fly between Belly and brothers Jeremiah and Conrad Fisher in a dramatic teen love triangle.

The first season was relatable, emotional and entertaining, and had fans divided over Belly choosing golden boy Jeremiah, or the complex and moody Conrad. Belly and the brothers are the focal point in the books and the series, but in season 2, things have shifted, and a new couple has our attention.

In the background of season 1, Belly's older brother Steven, and her best friend Taylor share a steamy kiss. It doesn't seem too serious at first, but as the first season continued we found ourselves becoming more and more fixated on the obvious chemistry between the pair, despite them both dancing around the subject.

Staying in line with the story from the books, season 2 hasn't given much focus to Steven and Taylor, with Taylor in a new relationship and Steven trying to bury his feelings for her. The pair were never meant to be the central point of the story, but their relationship is one worth rooting for, and we all want to see it take center stage.

Belly has a lot to figure out within herself, and her situation with the Fisher brothers, and whilst she does that, we want to see what happens next with Steven and Taylor.

We want to see their story play out because it feels authentic and relatable, the pair share jokes and argumentative banter and have really good chemistry. One of the most relatable parts of it all is Steven's moments of nervousness around Taylor which anyone who has experienced young love can relate to, as well as the feeling of watching Taylor with someone else from Steven's pining perspective.

We're not saying we don't want to see Belly at all, but there's no denying that the direction of the story has changed, and fans are eager not just to see how Steven and Taylor's story plays out, but to get to know their characters more.

We hope that upcoming episodes will explore more about Steven and Taylor, and can only hope that Steven will speak up or make a move before he loses his chance with Taylor. As for Belly, she will always be a beloved character, but she needs to step aside and decide what she wants whilst Steven and Taylor take the lead (and hopefully get together).
