The Real Story Behind 1000-Lb Sisters' Tammy & Amy Slaton Beef, Explained
Two sisters from the hit reality show are still fighting, and here's why.
TLC's reality show 1000-Lb Sisters debuted in 2020, allowing viewers into the lives of an unusual pair of siblings trying to cope with their weight while finding love and acceptance.
While both Tammy and Amy were pretty close, they often argued with each other during the show's run, leaving fans to wonder what exactly went wrong between them. Here are some of the sisters' biggest fights.
In the very first season, Tammy and Amy had a huge fight when Tammy learned that her sister qualified for weight-loss surgery and she didn't.
This news caused a lot of tension between the siblings, as Tammy felt abandoned by Amy and worried that her sister would start living her best life while she herself would continue struggling with her weight. Although fans were supportive of Tammy, they still noted that taking care of her sister should be a big priority for her.
The sisters managed to reconcile after that, but their fights continued in season three when Amy accused Tammy's boyfriend Phillip of overfeeding her and not caring about her health problems.
Tammy was obviously heartbroken that her sister didn't support her choice of man and accused Amy of ruining her love life. And in fact, that wasn't the only time Tammy and Amy fought over Tammy's boyfriends, as season four showed their fight over Tammy marrying her new man Caleb rather soon.
After Amy went through the divorce, she traveled to Tammy's house to live with her for a while, but according to some reports, she overstayed her welcome and Tammy got really angry with her again. It seems that, even though the two sisters are getting healthier, they are still unable to stop fighting, and some people believe that their time on the reality show is to blame.
Fans are sure that both sisters care deeply for each other, but due to their mental state, they are not always able to express their feelings properly, and that's why they are constantly having huge fights.
