The Real Reason You’ll Probably Never See Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seehorn Reunite on Pluribus
Bob Odenkirk pours cold water on hopes of reuniting with Rhea Seehorn on Vince Gilligan’s Apple TV series Pluribus, where Seehorn leads as Carol Sturka, saying a cameo isn’t looking likely.
Everyone wants the Bob Odenkirk/Rhea Seehorn reunion, right? Vince Gilligan has Seehorn headlining his Apple series Pluribus, so the table is set. Odenkirk was asked about jumping in for a cameo, and his answer was both extremely flattering and very much a buzzkill in the best way.
So, will Odenkirk pop up?
Short version: he loves the show, he would do it in a heartbeat, and he also thinks it would be a terrible idea.
'Across the board, excellent. Six stars, eight stars. How many stars do you got?'
Odenkirk, who worked with Gilligan on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul (and, yes, the Nobody and Little Women star has range), raved about Pluribus and the way Gilligan builds stories. He pointed out that this is one of those watch-every-detail experiences where tiny moments pay off later, and he likes that the series takes the post-apocalyptic setup into a more ethical, ideas-first direction.
As for a cameo, he did not hesitate on the instinct:
'Of course I would.'
And then he hedged hard, for a very specific reason:
'You can't do that. I think I will destroy the fabric of his world.'
Translation: dropping Saul Goodman's face into Gilligan's new sandbox might yank viewers out of the story the second he walks on. He is probably right.
What Pluribus is doing
Pluribus is Gilligan swinging at a big, eerie premise. Most of humanity has gone peaceful and hive-minded thanks to an alien virus. Carol Sturka, played by Rhea Seehorn (aka Kim Wexler forever), is one of the rare people who is immune. The story leans into what that does to society and to the last few independent minds left. Karolina Wydra co-stars as Zosia, and Carlos-Manuel Vesga plays Manousos Oviedo.
The release plan (and the wait)
- Premiered on Apple TV on November 7, 2025
- Season 1 ran for eight episodes through December 24, 2025
- Ordered for two seasons from the start
- In February, Gilligan signaled Season 2 will take a while to arrive
So if you were hoping for a cheeky Odenkirk drop-by while Seehorn leads the charge, the man himself basically tapped the brakes. Given how tightly this show is built, that restraint weirdly tracks.
