The Real Reason Behind John Mulaney & Anna Marie Tendler Divorce
It appears that comedy's most prominent couple’s separation was prompted by some rather unsavoury behaviour on the part of everybody’s favourite comedian.
At the close of the previous decade, no one in the stand-up scene was as adored as John Mulaney, whose successes like Comeback Kid and Kid Gorgeous propelled him to stardom. His relationship with his wife, Anna Marie Tendler, seemed perfect, but then in 2021, out of the blue, the couple separated, leaving the comedian's fans wondering who was responsible for ending what appeared to be an ideal marriage.
Well, as it turns out, the charming Mulaney had a much darker side to him and that was what ultimately brought about the end of the seemingly perfect relationship.
Sources close to the family and Tendler herself have consistently attributed the marriage's end to Mulaney, and since neither the comedian nor his representatives have ever attempted to defend him, more and more people are beginning to take this account seriously.
Rumour has it that the COVID pandemic was particularly hard on Mulaney, who allegedly relapsed into drug abuse, sending his marriage into a downward spiral. Fellow comedians Bill Hader, Nick Kroll, Seth Meyers, and Fred Armisen even staged an intervention, encouraging him to enter rehab and get his life back on track.
It seems Mulaney took their advice to heart: he requested a divorce from Tendler while checking into rehab. The couple completed their separation in July 2021, and Mulaney has been on the mend since, overcoming his addiction and finding new love in actress Olivia Munn.
Mulaney and Munn welcomed a son in late 2021, leading fans to speculate that their relationship began earlier than Mulaney's divorce from Anna Tendler was finalised. In any event, sources close to Mulaney have alleged that he was unfaithful to his ex-wife even before discussing divorce, casting a shadow over his previously pristine public image.
Nevertheless, Mulaney is now sober, he and Olivia remain deeply in love, and fans are thrilled to see the comedian enjoying life, touring with his stand-up performances, and entertaining audiences with more expertly crafted jokes than ever.
