Let's face it — Ted Lasso is the ultimate feel-good show, in large part because each and every character in it is written and acted with so much care from the writers and cast. While all of its main characters are obviously well developed, the series excels at making viewers root for the secondary characters as well, and ex-journalist Trent Crimm is the most striking example of this.

This nosy correspondent first appeared in Season 1 and was initially disliked by fans due to his tendency to accuse Lasso of various mistakes. However, when Crimm decided to write a book on AFC Richmond, his storyline became much more complex and endearing.

In the current third season, the character really began to shine as his sexuality was finally revealed — Trent is a gay man, although he was married at one point and has a daughter. Fans were really happy to finally see the character in full and praised the writers for skillfully expanding his story arc. But how are things between Trent and his ex-wife now?

In fact, as Trent himself said, he and his ex-wife are getting along better than ever after he came out to her about his sexuality. It looks like the two of them are able to just be great friends nowadays, each pursuing their own romantic endeavors, supporting and caring for each other.

Moreover, raising their daughter is still their main goal in life, and fans simply adore the dynamic between Trent and his ex-wife, calling it very adult and respectful.

People appreciate how Ted Lasso's writers approached Trent and his story, making it especially relevant and relatable for everyone out there. Even though Trent and his wife separated after his confession, this character arc still sends a great message to the audience, as both characters have become happier after one of them found the courage to come out.
