Mayim Bialik gained fame by playing the title character of the NBC sitcom Blossom, and then Amy Fowler on The Big Bang Theory - the latter role brought her several Emmy nominations.

But right now she’s probably best known as the current co-host of Jeopardy.

She’s also known as the most relatable celebrity ever. She’s not afraid to show herself to the world in situations, which many celebrities would have done their best to keep behind closed doors, hoping that the public would keep seeing them as shining idols, who don’t get into such embarrassing messes.

For example, recently she posted a video of herself on Instagram. Not only in that video she was makeup-free and wearing casual clothes, the caption she added to it says it all:

"Listening back to my own voicemail to make sure I sounded OK.” And the content of said voicemail was embarrassing enough to make Mayim herself cringe, as she listened to it.

Not only celebrities, but even the vast majority of normal people probably wouldn’t have wanted to present themselves to the whole world in such a way. However, Mayim’s video invoked a wave of warm feelings and supportive messages from her followers - the overall atmosphere in the comment section amounted to “sending hugs”, “so relatable on so many levels”, and so on.

The people there agreed that Mayim’s reveal of her personal hang-ups only made her more likable.

Perhaps that sentiment encouraged Mayim Bialik, and she continued with the “cringe but also relatable” stories on her Instagram, posting a video titled “True story of how I cried at Disneyland the other day.” It also was well-received by the crowd.

It should be noted that Mayim’s Instagram account has over 4.5 millions of subscribers, so it hardly can be her heavily censored personal hugbox. There is clearly something in her willingness to show embarrassing episodes from her life, or talk about them, which only makes the audience empathize with her and love her more.

Maybe people just like celebrities who aren’t anxious to hide their anxieties from the public.
