It would appear that Taylor Swift and Outlander are closer than you think.

Undoubtedly, Taylor Swift is one of the most popular musicians in the world right now, with her ongoing blockbuster Eras tour driving her popularity to even greater heights.

While she has always been famous, it's the current spectacular tour that has truly solidified her status as an icon. Fans are ecstatic at the opportunity to hear songs from all periods of the singer's career. The tour has already raked in tens of millions of dollars and showcased a plethora of surprising duets, incredible choreography, and heartfelt audience reactions. However, it appears that someone has spotted something they had seen before.

In a viral TikTok video, a fan shared a brief moment from Taylor Swift's performance in Cincinnati, asserting that the choreography during one of the scenes rang some bells. The sight of Swift surrounded by dancers donning green watches while flames were projected onto the floor immediately reminded them of the opening credits of Starz's Outlander.

Certainly, the mediaeval vibes employed by Swift's choreographer could have been inspired by any other show. However, given Outlander's popularity, fans are convinced that it's the time-travelling saga that must have influenced the singer's crew. Plus, Outlander's intro song is just as iconic as some of Swift's tracks, so fans are now looking forward to Swift's rendition of it for the upcoming final season.

While it's not 100% certain that Outlander inspired Swift's choreography, fans are confident the singer has seen the show and have humorously accused her of bingeing the entire series in a short period of time.

‘You cannot tell me Blondie didn’t binge watch all of Outlander during quarantine. I’m convinced,’ a fan said.

However, seeing how the Eras tour began back in March and how millions of people will already have seen it, it's puzzling why the connection between Swift's on-stage choreography and Outlander has only been discovered now. Some have even suggested it could be just wishful thinking. The two dance sequences are indeed similar, but we're talking about a two-second scene in the intro to Outlander versus Swift's much longer performance.
