Roger & Brianna Scenes Are the Most Boring Part of Outlander Season 7 Already
Fans are bored with the story of this couple.
Almost a decade after its premiere, Starz's Outlander manages to remain relevant and popular, securing viewers' interest with captivating storylines, high-octane action scenes, great direction and, of course, the crazy on-screen chemistry between Sam Heughan and Caitríona Balfe. The writers try to make Claire and Jamie fall in love with each other even more, so these characters' romance is getting better with each new season of Outlander.
However, it looks like the creators have missed the mark with another important romantic storyline on the show, failing to make it as relevant and appearing as the main one.
When Claire and Jamie's daughter Brianna Randall was first introduced to Outlander, fans were eager to know what the writers had in store for the character and how she would live her life after learning about her mother's time traveling. Unfortunately, Brianna turned out to be a rather bland character, and her relationship with her husband Roger only makes things worse.
The first episode of Season 7 has just aired on Starz, but it gave fans enough reasons to hate Roger and Brianna as a couple. Their romance storyline is extremely stale and boring compared to Claire and Jamie's, and people say there is no chemistry between Roger and Brianna, which makes every scene they share a total snooze-fest.
Viewers also think that Roger and Brianna are stealing too much screen time from other characters, and some of the other supporting couples could make the new season more exciting to watch. In particular, fans have been waiting to see some updates on the romance between Fergus and Marsali, which is why Starz's decision to push Brianna and Roger as the show's second most important couple angers many in the fandom.
Only one episode of Season 7 aired so far, so this problem may be resolved in the upcoming episodes. Fans of Outlander hope that Brianna and Roger will recede into the background in the future episodes, giving way for more interesting characters to take center stage.
