5. She created a virus

As a microbiologist and scientist at a pharmaceutical company, Bernadette was in charge of creating cures for diseases and viruses, but it looks like her paychecks weren't big enough, because at one point she bragged about creating a deadly virus just to sell the cure to it. Yikes.

4. She looked at Howard's private letter from his father

Howard's father was one of the most problematic characters on the show, as he left his son and wife and started a new family, never even communicating with young Howard. When he decided to send his first son a letter, Howard was reluctant to open it and urged Bernadette not to look into it either. Of course, she did just that, and many viewers disapproved of this invasion of privacy.

3. She bullies her coworkers

While Bernadette seems quite innocent on the surface, she is a total beast in the workplace, contributing to the hostile work environment and spreading toxicity among her coworkers.

She even created the nickname 'Wheelchair Kathy' for one of the staff members, shaming the person for having a disability.

2. She took credit for Howard's accomplishments

When Howard was trying to fulfill his dream and go into space, Bernadette was viciously against it and threatened him in various ways. But when he actually went into space and became a hero against all odds, Bernadette began to casually take credit for sending him on the NASA mission, even though she tried to stop him earlier.
