Prince William and Princess Kate's Relationship with Queen Camilla: Friendship or Hidden Hostility?

The British royal family is no stranger to controversy, and Prince Harry leaving the court to live with his American wife Meghan Markle is not actually the biggest problem the Windsors have faced in recent history. Back in the 1990s, the world was shocked when Prince Charles divorced his wife Princess Diana to date his teenage flame Camilla Parker Bowles, eventually marrying her in 2005.

But how do his sons Prince William and Prince Harry feel about their father choosing another woman over their mother?

According to Prince Harry himself, he and his brother were a little worried before Charles married Camilla, as it was really hard for them to welcome another woman into their lives. However, after seeing how much Charles and Camilla loved each other, the royal brothers apparently decided to support their father and wish him well instead of causing unnecessary drama.

'Despite Willy and me urging him not to, Pa was going ahead. We pumped his hand, wished him well. No hard feelings. We recognized that he was finally going to be with the woman he loved, the woman he'd always loved, the woman Fate might've intended for him in the first place,' Harry wrote in his memoir, Spare.

While the brothers may still harbor some resentment towards Camilla, it looks like William's wife, Kate Middleton, has a great relationship with the newly crowned queen. She has been supportive of her husband's step mother ever since she joined the royal family back in 2011.

In October 2021, when Camilla was supposed to be on the cover of Country Life, the future queen asked the editors to allow Kate Middleton to take the photos. Knowing that her step daughter-in-law has a passion for photography, Camilla was clearly trying to make Kate happy with the opportunity to do the shoot for her, and the whole world was delighted to learn about the warm relationship between two women.

All in all, it looks like there is no hostility within the royal family, as the Princess of Wales is good friends with Queen Camilla, while her step sons have come to terms with his father's second marriage.
