Patti LuPone Made It Clear She's No Fan of Kim Kardashian Starring in AHS
It looks like the Broadway star disagrees with Ryan Murphy's decision to hire the controversial reality TV star.
American Horror Story really broke new ground in 2011, with each new season presenting viewers with unique and well-developed riffs on familiar horror tropes.
People loved the show's aesthetic and praised its creator Ryan Murphy for assembling a great cast and team of writers — but in recent seasons, AHS hasn't been itself, as both the writing and the acting have flopped, resulting in poorly reviewed episodes. Can the upcoming Season 12 break this unfortunate losing streak?
At first glance, the upcoming installment, titled 'Delicate,' is designed to do just that. Based on Danielle Valentine's novel Delicate Condition, the season will tell the story of a woman who is convinced that strangers will do anything to keep her from getting pregnant.
With such a devilish premise and Emma Roberts in the title role, Season 12 looked like it would reestablish the show as the best in the business — however, fans got really worried when the news of Kim Kardashian's involvement broke.
While Kim's character fits perfectly into the camp aesthetic of American Horror Story, fans wondered if the reality TV star would ruin the entire season with her bad acting and celebrity status. And it looks like the show's viewers are not alone in that thought, as Broadway legend and AHS star Patti LuPone revealed her stance on Kim joining the franchise.
'She's taking the work from actors. Excuse me, Kim, you know, what are you doing with your life? Don't get on the stage,' LuPone said during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
The actress doesn't seem to like the fact that Murphy was wasting a lot of time promoting Kim for the upcoming season instead of taking care of the other actors and trying to give fans the best version of the beloved show. Or, as some people claim, maybe LuPone is just upset that she wasn't invited back for Season 12?
