Outlander Season 7 Sneak Peek Introduces 2 Iconic Book Characters
Fans are now more eager than ever to watch the upcoming season.
Starz's Outlander is the best period drama on the air right now, but that doesn't mean the last couple of seasons weren't a total tonal mess, as fans and critics alike failed to understand why the show started to look like a cheesy romantic soap the moment Claire and Jamie were reunited. People were demanding more exciting storylines, and it looks like Season 7 is here to fix that, introducing new arcs and some long-awaited characters from the original books.
Recently, Starz's official Instagram account gave fans a sneak peek at two beloved characters from Diana Gabaldon's original books — siblings Denzell and Rachel Hunter. The siblings are Quakers who dabble in the art of healing and will play a big role in Jamie and Claire's story, as well as the entire Continental Army storyline.
And it looks like Starz has succeeded in pleasing picky book fans, as everyone seems to have lost their minds over how book-accurate and simply gorgeous Joey Phillips and Izzy Meikle-Small look as Denzell and Rachel.

People who haven't read the original books may think that the siblings will just be new supporting characters on the show, but that isn't actually true. Denzell and Rachel played a huge role in the books, and fans are hopeful that Starz will follow Gabaldon's original storyline, allowing these characters as much screen time as they deserve.
Of all the storylines the Hunters have been involved with, there is one in particular that fans are eager to see adapted for the screen — the budding love between Rachel and Ian Fraser Murray, which will lead to their marriage in the future. People are already sure that Izzy Meikle-Small and John Bell will look great together on screen, especially as a couple.
Outlander Season 7 is set to arrive on Starz on June 16, 2023.
