'Not a Homewrecker': Sydney Sweeney Gets Dragged into Glen Powell's Breakup
People seem to have jumped to all kinds of conclusions about Sydney and Glen's current relationship status.
Earlier this week, fans were abuzz with the latest Hollywood rumour that Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell were having an affair on the set of their new movie, Anyone But You.
While some facts lined up perfectly to make this story seem plausible, it appears to have no basis in reality, as Sydney is vehemently denying everything. But regardless of what may or may not have happened between them, Sydney and Glen are going to have to deal with the fallout of these rumours and here's why.
Firstly, just before the news of their alleged on-set affair broke, Glen and his girlfriend of three years, model Gigi Paris, ended their relationship. Gigi posted a message on Instagram that immediately made fans suspect infidelity: 'Know your worth & onto the next.'
People naturally assumed that Gigi broke up with Glen because of his alleged affair with Sydney, whether it was really the case or not.
Secondly, even if the two manage to convince everyone on set that they didn't have an affair, the rumour is already tarnishing the movie. People will always perceive Anyone But You as a film known primarily for the scandal that surrounded its filming rather than as the great romantic comedy it strives to be.
The entire issue is reportedly making Sydney quite uncomfortable, as she is telling all her friends that she is not a homewrecker and that her relationship with Glen was purely professional.
Furthermore, she remains engaged to her boyfriend, Jonathan Davino and has no intention of ending their relationship.
It appears that fans believe the star, as she has never been involved in controversies and is generally considered sweet and caring. Cheating on her fiancé with her co-star would certainly have been a highly uncharacteristic move for her.
Both Sydney and Glen have yet to officially comment on the rumour, and fans are urging them to do so sooner rather than later. The entire situation is already spiralling out of control and causing damage to the stars and their movie.
