Masked Singer Fans Pick the Most Underrated Contestant, and Honestly, They Have a Point

Fox's The Masked Singer has captivated audiences since its 2019 premiere thanks to its unique premise – for the first time in reality singing competition history, fans and judges must not only assess contestants' voices but also guess which celebrities are hiding behind the masks.

Nine seasons later, The Masked Singer continues to thrive, attracting even bigger stars to the competition. However, fans feel that some contestants are underestimated by the producers and judges, with Axolotl being a prime example.

The charming pink salamander quickly became one of Season 9's most memorable performers, thanks to a heartfelt rendition of LeAnn Rimes' Can't Fight the Moonlight and impressive choreography.

Fans were confident Axolotl would advance to the next round, but the judges disagreed. Axolotl was unmasked as WWE wrestler Alexa Bliss, surprising fans and making them wonder why Bliss hadn't showcased her singing talents before.

Although Bliss received a warm response after her appearance on The Masked Singer, fans felt somewhat let down, but not by the wrestler. Accusations arose that Fox producers eliminated Bliss too early to promote frontrunners Medusa and Fairy.

Critics argue that while Bliss may not be a sensational talent, she is a capable performer and could have been a strong contender for several more rounds.

Furthermore, fans of The Masked Singer argue that the show's purpose is to highlight the singing talents of unexpected celebrities, and Bliss' early elimination undermines that core concept.

With many singers in the ninth season, having the wrestler on the roster could have offered a refreshing change.
