'Better Call Davos,' he said, but no callback followed.

We have absolutely no idea if the sixth novel in George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, The Winds of Winter, will be released anytime soon, so the book fans are still waiting to know what will happen to their favorite characters.

However, whether we like it or not, we also know the fate of the characters thanks to the not-so-successful Season 8 of Game of Thrones.

Ser Davos Seaworth was undoubtedly one of the most popular characters in the show, and his fate stands out in this respect. Many fans would surely like to see the character again in a spin-off series of some sorts — and the new Game of Thrones show, developed by Kit Harrington under the working title Snow, may be the one to feature Davos. The actor who portrayed him, Liam Cunningham, recently talked about a possible involvement.

The details about the new project, which was confirmed last year, are still scarce, and we'll probably have to wait for the ongoing WGA and SAG strikes to be resolved before any new information surfaces. The only thing that's certain at the moment is that Harrington, who played Jon Snow, will be the executive producer and lead. He also was the one who came up with the idea for the series, which is supposed to continue the story after the GoT finale, following Snow as he travels beyond the Wall with the Night's Watch.

When he learned about the upcoming project, Liam Cunningham contacted Harrington right away.

'I did send [Kit] a text saying, "Better Call Davos,"' the actor shared with a laugh, referring to Better Call Saul. 'I haven't heard anything back.'

As no callback followed from the spin-off team and no details were revealed to fans, the future of the Snow project remains clouded. It looks like the production for the new show had been troubled even before the writers' and actors' strikes erupted, but even if the series does go into filming, not seeing Cunningham's Davos and other beloved characters would be a huge disappointment to the GoT fandom.

But while Cunningham still knows as little about the spin-off as the rest of us, he's eager to reprise his role at the first opportunity.

'I wish them the best to whoever's involved in it, and if the check is big enough, I might even show up again!' he shared.

Cunningham evidently loves the show, and while he admits the last season wasn't the best, he still sees Game of Thrones as a major pop culture phenomenon, comparing it to the even bigger and sometimes more controversial Star Wars franchise.

'Star Wars has been going on forever, and some of them have been great quality, and some of them not so great. It's a world that people are fascinated with, and long may it continue,' the GoT star concluded.
