The iconic scene was a blast to shoot, according to the actress.

AMC's Breaking Bad is one of the most iconic shows to ever appear on TV, and the great criminal subplot, insanely good writing, and heartfelt performances from all cast members are to thank for that.

Besides, for a show following the life of a school teacher becoming a drug kingpin, Breaking Bad was surprisingly quite tender in some scenes.

One of the show's most heartbreaking moments was when Krysten Ritter's character died in front of her lover, Aaron Paul's Jesse, choking on her own heroin-induced vomit. Yes, this was an incredibly tough scene to watch, but Ritter's skillful performance added a kind of eerie beauty to her character's death. In fact, that scene turned out so great, it even made the actress and her colleagues gasp in disbelief while watching the first cut of the episode.

Here's what Krysten Ritter shared with fans on Michael Rosenbaum's podcast Inside of You:

'That was a big episode that I was in, my character had a lot to do. The network started to sort of talk about the performance. People were starting to get excited about it. So, we were invited to watch it. I'll never forget it. We watched it, and all of us were on our feet, hands over mouths. We were shocked. We were shocked and moved by it. It was the coolest thing I've ever done,' the actress said.

While the nature of the scene in which Ritter's character died was utterly disturbing for many viewers, it was important to develop the relationship between the show's main characters, Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. What's more, it has definitely helped the actress make significant progress in her career.

Even though her character died and she was forced to leave Breaking Bad, Krysten Ritter didn't hold a grudge against the series' writer Vince Gilligan because he created a perfect farewell for her character — gruesome, but true. Thanks to this scene, Ritter became a big actress overnight, which earned her leading roles in projects like Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 and Jessica Jones.
