It looks like Jamie Tartt's story is much better than everyone else's.

While Ted Lasso is still very much a perfect feel-good show, the third season of the Jason Sudeikis-led series proved to be quite a disappointment. Fans hated that the new episodes were almost twice as long as the previous ones, as more bloated storylines were introduced and the show's attention has mostly shifted away from Ted and his team to secondary characters.

But while the increased episode duration hurt a lot of characters and their arcs, one of them still managed to flourish — Jamie Tartt, a striker for AFC Richmond.

While Jamie was a beloved presence throughout the first two seasons, he blossomed into a fan-favorite character after viewers got to see more of him in Season 3. And in the recently released Episode 9, Tartt stole the show completely, as seeing him argue with Sam Obisanya over an important position really made fans laugh out loud.

'Sam and Jamie silently arguing over the temporary captain position was everything,' one fan said.

There was also one moment in the episode that really made fans respect Jamie and praise him as an open-minded and confident character. When the news broke that one of the players might be gay and everyone immediately thought it was him, Jamie's reaction was priceless — instead of being offended by the thought, he was actually proud to be suspected of being gay!

'I love him being flattered at the team, wondering if he was the gay one,' a fan commented on that scene.

Of course, Jamie is still a fairly minor character, but fans are hoping that the writers will change that in the future. Characters like Rebecca and Keeley have been given much more time to develop in Season 3, and many viewers think that the increased attention on them is subtly ruining the show. But Jamie, on the other hand, could be the real remedy to get the series back on track, as people obviously want to know more about this talented soccer player.

Fans loved the short scenes with Jamie in the spotlight much more than the long episodes with Keeley working at her PR firm or the other subplots in Season 3. All in all, it looks like this character has been the real saving grace of Ted Lasso's disappointing third season.
