Fans feel that Katy Perry's behavior in Season 21 is becoming a major problem.

American Idol has been one of the most popular reality singing competitions for more than two decades, but its status as the most popular of all has been waning for quite some time.

Fans feel that the show has simply stopped being exciting, as its format hasn't changed much since its premiere in 2002. And the currently airing Season 21 made the problem even worse, as one of the celebrity judges, Katy Perry, seems to be doing everything in her power to ruin the show's reputation even more.

Earlier this season, Perry found herself at the center of a major controversy when she was accused of 'mom-shaming' one of the contestants after the star expressed surprise that a woman in her 20s could already have three children.

The contestant decided not to continue with the show, even though she was selected by the judges as a potential American Idol. But Perry's misadventures didn't stop there…

In the recently released episode, Perry was once again in the spotlight, and not for a good reason. During the process of selecting the Top 24 contestants, the star toyed with two singers while announcing the final results, making them think they had failed to impress the judges.

First, Katy told Nutsa, 'We really appreciated you being in this competition. And we did not put you in the Top 24,' which made the young singer cry, but then the judge went on to clarify, 'You put yourself in the Top 24,' forcing Nutsa to pause in confusion.

Yes, for some inexplicable reason, Perry decided to gaslight Nutsa into thinking she didn't qualify for the Top 24, only to prove her wrong moments later. She then did the same to Zachariah Smith, leaving fans scratching their heads in disbelief.

People are completely clueless as to why Perry is acting this way, as these crazy antics are not only hurting her own reputation but American Idol's as well. Fans are hoping that Perry will understand the backlash of her actions and stop messing with the contestants' heads to simply let them do what they do best — sing.

American Idol Season 21 Episode 11 will arrive on ABC on April 16, 2023.
