The fate of the teen series is still up in the air.

Paramount+ has recently emerged as a significant contender in the crowded streaming market, largely thanks to Taylor Sheridan, whose hit dramas like Yellowstone and Tulsa King have bolstered the platform's offerings.

Buoyed by the success of these shows, Paramount+ has released numerous original series this year, although not all are destined to be as successful as the aforementioned projects.

One such new series, Wolf Pack, debuted earlier this year, drawing attention for its similarities to Teen Wolf and the involvement of Sarah Michelle Gellar.

In the show, Gellar portrays arson investigator Kristin Ramsey, who initially appears to be a typical werewolf series protagonist. However, as the main characters, Everett and Blake, discover by the end of the season, Kristin's true identity is far more sinister: she is revealed to be the mother of the show's primary antagonist, Baron.

With such a cliffhanger, it's no surprise that fans are eager for a second season. But will there be a second season?

According to Sarah Michelle Gellar, anything is possible. In an interview with Variety, she remained tight-lipped about the show's future, but confirmed that discussions are underway to renew the series and that she is already in talks for a second season - 'the conversations are happening,' Gellar says.

Although the show enjoyed popularity during its first season, Paramount+'s hesitation in renewing it is understandable. Following its premiere, the show's IMDb rating dropped significantly, with fans accusing it of rehashing the Teen Wolf atmosphere without offering anything new.

While the show's rating has since improved, the streaming service is understandably cautious about committing to the supernatural teen drama.

Fans hope that the success of other streaming series will pave the way for a second season of Wolf Pack, giving the show an opportunity to come into its own.
