Fans aren't sure if the beloved show will be continued.

Sam Levinson's Euphoria may be an extremely polarizing project, but one thing is for sure — no other series in recent history has talked about what it's like to be a teenager as candidly as this HBO show. Love it or hate it, Euphoria has made a huge impact on the current television landscape since its premiere in 2019, and even Levinson's troubles with his new show The Idol can't change that.

However, it looks like the scandal surrounding the creator's collaboration with The Weeknd could lead to some pretty disappointing news for all fans of Zendaya's show.

According to a recent scoop, HBO is apparently trying to cancel Levinson because of all the controversy surrounding The Idol, and this may even lead to cancellation of Euphoria's third season.

While fans of the show are alarmed with the rumor, it looks more like someone's wishful thinking than an actual fact. Euphoria is making a ton of money for HBO, so canceling the show because of Levinson's alleged predatory behavior or explicit content in his new series would be rather odd on the part of the network.

But with that in mind, it looks like other issues may force HBO to overturn Euphoria's renewal status.

First, Euphoria is known to be a very pricey and demanding production for the network. Season 2 cost HBO nearly $100 million in production costs alone, and Levinson and his crew spent 176 days filming the eight episodes.

Also, considering that Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, and Sydney Sweeney are huge stars right now, they may want to go on to work on other exciting projects instead of returning to Euphoria. Add to that the ongoing WGA strike and you can see why some fans are not sure if Euphoria will ever get a third season.

'This just seems like a good guess with the writers' strike and The Idol situation. The cast will be like 40 by the time they film and some of them have big projects coming up,' one Redditor summed up the situation.

Moreover, it seems that even the fans of the show are ready to say goodbye to it, arguing that Euphoria has ceased to be interesting a long time ago.

'I liked Euphoria for the silly soap opera that it was, but I'm good with it being canceled. The show has definitely run its course. But it gave me some good laughs along the way,' another fan noted.
