It looks like Netflix missed the mark with their iconic show.

Charlie Brooker is widely considered to be one of the greatest writers television has ever seen, as his show Black Mirror managed to shock viewers with its every single episode, which in itself is a self-contained story about how technology is changing the world for the worse.

Each new season of the dystopian anthology series is a highly anticipated event, but it looks like the new sixth chapter of Black Mirror failed to live up to the high standards set by the previous installments.

The latest season consists of five episodes, each directed by a promising up-and-coming director that Brooker chose himself. With big stars like Salma Hayek, Aaron Paul, and Josh Hartnett on board, Season 6 was meant to be the best chapter of Black Mirror yet. However, the opposite thing has happened, as fans are already calling the current installment the most disappointing project Brooker has ever done.

While each of the new episodes looked quite interesting plot-wise, people found them all toothless and predictable and wondered why Brooker decided to trade satire for mindless sci-fi stories. In the previous episodes, it always felt like the writer always had an important message to share with the viewers, but this time, the season looks more like a collection of half-baked stories with no real substance behind them.

'Two episodes in and I'm just feeling like that Black Mirror magic isn't there. "Joan Is Awful" was… dystopian but so bland. "Loch Henry" was okay but I wouldn't know better if it was released as a standalone on Netflix. Fingers crossed for the next episodes. I want to have a gut sinking existential crisis by the end of the night,' one fan said.

With their expectations set high by the show's previous installments, people want to feel dread at the end of each episode, but instead they get something else entirely — a sense of wasted time. Don't get us wrong, each of the Season 6 episodes looks great and would be a total hit if the stories would be rendered in a better, more gut-wrenching way. Charlie Brooker is certainly capable of so much more, and that really bothers fans.
