Heels is Canceled, and All the Fans Are Saying Just One Thing
There is still a chance the beloved show might be back.
As Stephen Amell wrapped up his 8-year run on The CW's Arrow, fans were eager to see what the actor was going to do next. They were pleasantly surprised when he joined the cast of Starz's Heels, a drama centered on the rivalry between two brothers involved in a wrestling promotion. The debut season emerged as a gripping and fresh drama, with fans eagerly looking forward to the next season, confident that Starz had found a much-needed hit with Heels.
However, soon after the finale of the second season, executives at Starz decided to pull the plug on the show, announcing its cancellation with no plans for a third season. Naturally, this shocked many fans, who had assumed that Heels was doing great.
Glimmer of Hope
Both Amell and series creator Michael Waldron encouraged fans to remain optimistic about the show's future. They were actively exploring options for moving the series to another platform, ideally a major streaming service like Netflix or Amazon Prime. This idea resonated with fans, prompting many to pen letters to Starz, urging them to reconsider the decision.
Yet, it seems even the most devoted Heels fans are starting to lose hope. They're coming to terms with the reality that Starz might disregard fan wishes, especially if Heels was expensive to produce and didn't make enough money to break even.
'Our petitions aren't going to change Starz mind, the only way we will get Starz to change their mind is if they lose a considerable amount of money due to people deleting their Starz account. The show has nowhere near enough fans hence why we will never be able to change Starz's mind. It's over,' a fan said.
If no other platform opts to pick up Heels, fans may have to reconcile with the cliffhanger at the close of Season 2. It's unlikely that Amell and Waldron would personally finance the continuation of the series.
