Outlander is finally back on track.

Nearly a decade ago, Starz premiered one of its biggest hits — the fantasy series Outlander, based on the book series by Diana Gabaldon. Despite the success of the early seasons, the last two chapters proved to be a major disappointment for fans, who accused the network of turning the complex fantasy story into a cheap soap opera filled with shallow character development.

However, Starz promised that the current Season 7 would right all those wrongs and make Outlander the compelling show it once was. Two episodes in, it looks like the producers are keeping their word.

While the first episode was already pretty great compared to the abysmal Season 6, it was the recently released Episode 2, titled 'The Happiest Place on Earth,' that really made fans sure that Outlander is finally back on track.

In the episode, Claire made a surprising discovery about Brianna's newborn, while the whole Ridge was startled by the arrival of a familiar face. Even without spoilers, it's clear that the latest episode is full of intrigue and interesting character development, and that's exactly what fans have been craving for all these years.

In addition, 'The Happiest Place on Earth' finally fixed one of Outlander's most serious flaws of the past few seasons by making the show's most underdeveloped character, Claire and Jamie's daughter Brianna, interesting again.

'This episode was just, wow. Must be the best episode in a while. So much emotion and so much quality scenes between our main characters. I didn't expect to cry but I did. And finally, some great Brianna and Jamie moments, I've really been missing that in S6,' one fan said.

But even though 'The Happiest Place on Earth' is sure to become one of the most popular episodes of all seasons, some people still found that the pacing of the episode was a bit off.

'I loved the episode but the pacing was insane. I had to check to make sure that I hadn't accidentally skipped midway through the episode during the opening — it went from 0-100 within seconds. It did feel a little rushed and it therefore wasn't the most satisfying ending to that storyline,' another fan argued.

Outlander Season 7 Episode 3 will arrive on Starz on June 30, 2023.
