Glee Stars Share Disturbing Details About Britney Spears' On-Set Behavior
It looks like Britney has been acting very strange during her time on Glee.
Ryan Murphy's Glee was one of the most popular comedy series of the early 2010s, thanks to the show's addictive mix of scripted television and full-blown musical extravaganza. Fans loved the eccentric musical numbers that the producers and cast threw at them each week, and when it was announced that Britney Spears would be appearing in one of the episodes, viewers' excitement went through the roof.
However, it looks like Britney's time on the set was a lot harder than anyone expected.
While her guest star episode became the most popular in Glee's history, with fans praising the singer as a natural fit for the show, the cast members are still reluctant to remember that seminal day of filming. According to some of them, it was pretty hard not to worry about Britney.
As Jenna Ushkowitz, the actress who portrayed Tina Cohen-Chang, recently revealed, Spears was really into helping Murphy and the producers make her performance as great as possible, but her entourage really derailed her enthusiasm.
'She had ideas — it was great — and then she would get whisked away. Somebody from her team or something would take her away, and she'd come back and be again, for lack of a better word, a bit vacant. When we would ask a question, it felt like you were talking around her and people were answering for her all the time,' Ushkowitz said.
Although fans were quick to accuse Britney's team of forcing her to take some illegal substances to keep her under control, it's obviously really hard to find out if that was really the case. It's pretty clear that Britney wasn't quite herself during her time on the Glee set, and it's painfully obvious that Jenna and the other cast members were really worried about her.
In any case, as Britney's rumored autobiography is coming out soon, we may finally get to hear her version of this story, with the star possibly explaining what her team really did to her on the set of Glee. The singer's fans will surely support her in every way, as coming back to that troubled time is certainly not easy for her.
