Ginny & Georgia's Most Wholesome Character is Also Its Most Underrated
Fans love the unexpected character much more than the main duo.
Ginny & Georgia is one of the most popular melodramas on Netflix right now, as viewers love to follow the complicated relationship of the mother and the daughter living in a new town and hiding from their troubled past.
But while the allure of small-town life makes watching the series a real gift for people who want to relive their teenage years, even die-hard fans of Ginny & Georgia have some complaints about the show. In particular, many argue that the amount of cringeworthy interactions and strange behavior of the main duo often make their scenes a total pain to watch.
Considering that Ginny is still a teenager and her mother is a complicated woman suffering from years of abuse, it is no wonder that both of them aren't exactly wholesome characters, as they still have a lot to work out in their minds. And there's actually another character that fans often call the best on the show, and it's not at all who you expected.
According to many viewers, Ginny and Georgia's neighbor Ellen Baker, portrayed by Jennifer Robertson, is the most wholesome presence on the Netflix show. Ellen is always cheerful, and she is not only a perfect wife and mother of two twins, but she's also a great friend to Georgia.
While her neighbor still acts like a teenager a lot of the time, Ellen is a grown woman ready to take responsibility for herself and her family, which is why fans love her so much.
'I just love her character. She's understanding, funny, down-to-earth and a really good friend to Georgia. She has a good relationship with her husband. Ironically, she just seems so "uncool" but is probably one of the healthiest parental figures on the show. I think she deserves a lot more credit!' a fan pointed out on Reddit.
Actress Jennifer Robertson, best known for her role as Jocelyn in Schitt's Creek, gives her best performance in Ginny & Georgia, and fans hope that the producers will give her more screen time to deepen her character in the upcoming Season 3.
