Fans have one major gripe about the hit show.

While Netflix's Ginny & Georgia has been one of the most popular streaming shows of the year, racking up millions of viewing hours in the weeks since its second season premiered in January, fans still have plenty of issues with the comedy-drama.

The story of a mother and daughter trying to start their lives over by moving to a new town and making new friends is quite compelling, but some seemingly minor details in the show ruin the immersion effect for some fans.

Undoubtedly, Ginny is a much more interesting character than her mother, Georgia, as her being a teenager allowed the writers to delve into some major drama involving first loves, betrayals, and teenage depression. However, even though all of these themes totally deserve exploring, some fans can't help but feel that the way the writers develop teenage characters on the show falls hopelessly short of authenticity.

Specifically, people hate it that the teenagers on the show talk like adults, which makes them sound contrived and stilted.

'Is it just me or does the dialogue seem forced at times? Like when Ginny was talking with Bracia and her friends before class, they were using phrases like 'entered the chat' and 'y'all need to have several seats.' Does any teenager actually talk like this? Not in my experience,' a fan noted.

In addition, people feel that the writers' inability to write authentically-sounding teenage dialogue only gets worse when it comes to Ginny and her black friends, as the people who write the show seem to use every trick in the book to make them sound more 'black.'

'As a teen myself we don't talk like that. It's like the writers are trying to make the characters (Bracia and Ginny and their black friends) 'sound black' by using certain words,' another fan pointed out.

With that in mind, it's no wonder some people can't really enjoy watching Ginny & Georgia, but maybe the writers will fix their teenage dialogue problems in the upcoming third season.
