Fire Country Might Lose These 4 Actors Ahead of Season 2
Not all original cast members will be returning for the upcoming season.
CBS' new addictive series about a group of prisoners fighting wildfires to pay their debt to society proved to be just the hit the network needed, and the producers renewed the show for a second season just months after the first episode aired. Now, fans of Fire Country are eagerly anticipating the upcoming season and wondering where the story will take the beloved characters next.
While fan favorites Max Thieriot, Kevin Alejandro, Stephanie Arcila, and Billy Burke are all set to reprise their roles in the new season, some of the supporting cast won't be returning for Season 2, as their characters' storylines have already been wrapped up in the premiere installment.
First of all, we can safely say that Jade Pettyjohn will not return as the late Riley Leone.
Her character was only present in flashbacks during Season 1, and the story had already moved on from the night of her death. Of course, the producers could bring the star back for another flashback, but that can only happen for fan service, not actual narrative need.
Tom Pickett's firefighter Charlie is also unlikely to appear in Season 2, as the character was never seen in the series again after surviving a fire truck falling on him.
It looks like the writers introduced Charlie just to drop something heavy on him, and after this has been done, the character doesn't have a future on the show.
Next, Fiona Rene will certainly not return as Rebecca Lee, as her character was killed off in the first season and can only be brought back in a flashback.
But since Rebecca's storyline has already been wrapped up, it looks like she is gone for good.
Zach Tinker's Collin was arrested as a serial arsonist and sent to prison, leading fans to believe they would never see him again.
However, the character might actually break out of prison to take revenge on the firefighters, which would be an interesting plot twist. But as of now, Collin is not set to return for the upcoming second season.
CBS is yet to announce the release date for Fire Country Season 2.
