Every Profession in Where Winds Meet — And How to Unlock Them All
In Where Winds Meet, your Profession is more than a label—it’s the engine of your adventure, letting you heal, craft talismans, and carve through enemies as you explore a sprawling world. Pick your path and bend the journey to your will.
Where Winds Meet is doing the open-world wuxia thing, but with a twist I kind of love: it makes you pick a day job. The game lets you fight, wander, and get into trouble, sure, but it also asks what you want to be when you grow up. Right now, you get two lanes: Healer or Scholar. Both actually matter, both change how you play, and both are easy to unlock if you know where to look.
Professions: what they do, how to get them
- Healer — You are the walking clinic. You can craft medicines and patch up people around you, with two kinds of treatment: one for physical injuries and one for mental/psychological issues. Flip on Wind Sense to spot NPCs who need help, heal them up, and you will start getting weekly gifts as a thank-you. To unlock Healer, finish the quest called 'Legacy: Healer's Calling.' Completing it not only gives you the profession but also hands out Echo Jade, coins, experience, and Enlightenment Points.
- Scholar — Less bandages, more brain. Scholars can jump into debates with NPCs and use different argument styles to shut them down. On top of that, you can craft paper and create Talismans that buff other players. Getting Scholar takes two steps: first clear 'Gift of Gab: Silver Tongue,' then complete 'Legacy: Scholar's Path.' After that, go win arguments and collect weekly gifts from the people you out-debated.
Leveling your Profession
Whichever path you choose, you can level it up to make your heals stronger or your arguments sharper. The currency for that is Career Notebooks.
There are two ways to get Career Notebooks. Fastest route: buy them (along with specific profession upgrades) from the Activity Shop using Jade Fish. It is quick and painless if you have the currency. The slower-but-free route: run profession quests. Those reliably hand out Career Notebooks, but you will be grinding a bit to stock up.
The basics, at a glance

Personally, I dig how clean this system is: two roles, clear perks, low-friction unlocks. Are you going team Healer or team Scholar? I am nosy. Tell me.
