The hit series is in big trouble.

Euphoria became a worldwide sensation the moment it premiered on HBO in 2019, but it looks like fans of the show are already too tired of waiting years for each season to come out, and they're not that interested in the series anymore.

Also, creator Sam Levinson seems too busy with his other projects, including the critically maligned The Idol, to produce new seasons of Euphoria on an annual basis, and the fact that Zendaya, Sidney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi are all enjoying huge careers in Hollywood is not helping the show to advance with Season 3.

In addition to that, the ongoing writers' and actors' strikes are complicating things even more, as the cast and writing crew are simply unable to work on movies and TV projects right now. And it looks like Euphoria has just fallen victim to the strikes, as it's been announced that HBO and Sam Levinson have decided to postpone the upcoming third season until 2026.

Yep, fans will have to wait three whole years to see their favorite characters again. Ouch.

However, it seems that the audience isn't really bothered by this. The majority of viewers already got tired of the show during the second season, and many argue that HBO should just cancel Euphoria and not waste the time of the fandom and the actors themselves, who are obviously not that interested in starring in the series anymore.

'Yeah, just cancel it now. Season 2 was fun but already a hot mess and showed a rapid decline in the quality of writing,' a fan noted on Reddit.

While most people don't think that the show is worth waiting three years, some are quite sure that Levinson can still salvage the situation by canceling the season altogether and focusing on wrapping up the story with feature films instead.

'The only way this series gets done at this point is if they make two feature-length films, closer to what they did with the special episodes, which funny enough were the most critically acclaimed because Sam actually let his ego take a backseat to let Zendaya and Hunter [Schafer] take the reins. I can see those two wanting to give the girl's story deserved and sensical closure,' another fan pointed out.

A Euphoria movie certainly sounds like an interesting idea, but it would take more time to produce, which means the film would premiere much later than 2026. Perhaps it's time to just let Euphoria go?
