The third season had a lot of beautiful moments.

It would be an understatement to say that Season 3 of Bridgerton raised some eyebrows. The highly anticipated third installment of the hit Netflix drama proved to be rather disappointing, as the supposedly central story of Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton was merely a tangent to the overall plot of the season.

There were many other reasons why Season 3 of Bridgerton wasn't that great. But to say that it was terrible would be a lie, because the third season had many beautiful and inspiring moments. Here are just five of them.

Portia & Penelope's Relationship

Throughout Bridgerton's three-season run, the relationship between Pen and her mother has been one of the show's most troubling. The coldness and disdain with which Portia treated her youngest daughter provided ample reason to vilify the Featherington matriarch as a cruel and heartless woman. Thankfully, Season 3 gave her a nice touch of humanity and really explored her character as well as her relationship with Penelope, resulting in the two finally seeing eye to eye and fostering trust and warmth between them.

A Potential Romance for Violet

Despite being reduced to a supporting character in Seasons 1 and 2, Violet quickly proved to be the ultimate fan favorite on the show. However, unlike other side characters, Violet had nothing going on in her personal life and was fully devoted to arranging the love lives of her children. In Season 3, things finally changed for her when she met Lord Marcus Anderson, who seemed to take a real interest in her. And it seems that something is brewing between them…

Violet & Lady Danbury's Friendship

Though Lady Danbury's story has been explored in previous seasons of Bridgerton and in the spin-off, Queen Charlotte, her relationship with Violet really shined in Season 3. In what may have been the most heartwarming scene of the entire series, the two characters wanted to have a sincere conversation but realized that they understood each other without saying anything and decided to declare their love for each other.

Genevieve's Support for Penelope

While everyone who knew Pen's secret told her to give up Lady Whistledown once and for all, Genevieve was the only person who gave the scribe a different opinion. The modiste encouraged Penelope to stay true to herself and not give up her dreams for a man, which was truly empowering, even though Genevieve certainly had a vested interest in Lady Whistledown.

Benedict & Eloise's Sibling Bond

Of all the eight Bridgerton siblings, Eloise and Benedict seem to share a special bond. The two lonely souls in this world, they found support and understanding in each other. Their iconic scene at the swings was as lovely as ever. And Benedict's advice to Eloise about the infinity of love seemed quite heartfelt, given that he had just come to understand it himself thanks to Tilley and Paul.
