Fallout Season 2 Has a Weekly Schedule – and It's the Right Move

Amazon is changing course for Fallout season 2.
Unlike the first season, which dropped all episodes at once, the post-apocalyptic hit will now roll out weekly on Prime Video — a move that mirrors the release model of The Boys.
Here's how it works:
- Premiere date: December 17, 2025
- Episode count: 8
- Weekly rollout ends on February 4, 2026
The decision comes after Fallout's debut proved to be one of Prime Video's biggest launches, with the streamer claiming "more than 65 million viewers" watched season 1 in its first 16 days. A weekly format should give the series more staying power — stretching its presence across two months while letting fans dissect every new twist, frame by frame, especially as the action shifts to the iconic Fallout: New Vegas setting.
The trailer reveal
Amazon dropped the first trailer during Gamescom's Opening Night Live. Walton Goggins' Cooper Howard — better known as The Ghoul — takes center stage, with glimpses of his glamorous pre-war life and a looming confrontation with Mr. House, played by Justin Theroux. Meanwhile, Lucy (Ella Purnell) continues her search for her father Hank (Kyle MacLachlan), following the shocking Vault-Tec revelations from the end of season 1.
Goggins, speaking to GamesRadar+, hinted that the new season will push the series far beyond its debut:
"This is a whole 'nother level. I wasn't prepared for where the story was gonna go and how fully fleshed out on the other side of introducing this world to people. It's really quite something. I can't wait for people to see it."
Prime Video is clearly banking on the weekly model to fuel conversation. The Boys has thrived under the same strategy, and Fallout season 2 arrives with even more momentum. With mysteries to unravel and new game lore to explore in New Vegas, each episode will have time to dominate discussion instead of being swallowed in a single binge weekend.
Fallout season 2 begins its run December 17. The wasteland will last until February.
