The star's comments forced fans to question her allegiance to feminism.

Harry Potter's Emma Watson was one of the most promising young actresses in Hollywood when she ended her tenure in the beloved wizard franchise, with countless producers courting her for their high-dollar productions. And while she did star in quite a few movies over the past decade, Watson has essentially disappeared from the public eye, not participating in new projects since 2019.

However, the actress still maintains an active social media presence, posting frequently on her Instagram page. Recently, one of Emma's comments made quite an impression on her fans.

While browsing through Watson's Instagram stories, fans were stunned to see that the actress had posted a screenshot of her own comment underneath Brad Pitt's ad for The Gardener gin brand. First, fans were surprised to see that Watson commented on the post at all, as not many celebrities are known to comment under commercials, and second, the nature of the comment really surprised people.

As you can see, Watson wrote this post as a fan girl, not as a revered Hollywood actress, which she certainly is. She even mentions her own brother, and fans are struggling to understand how this comment can be tied to Watson's personal brand as Hollywood's biggest feminist.

Given that some serious domestic abuse allegations have been made against Pitt recently, fans find it hard to understand why Watson would use her Instagram to support his alcohol brand.

'It's scary how they use feminism for their own personal brand, but they don't give a two-second thought when it comes to siding with questionable men,' one commenter noted.

While Watson's decision to comment on the post is entirely up to her, as many fans agree, people are actually more upset with Pitt himself, wondering how his involvement in the alcohol ad fits with his own comments about his struggle with substance abuse.

'Ah so Angie opens an Instagram to bring attention to human rights crime victims and Brad opens one to sell alcohol, despite claiming to be a … sober recovering alcoholic?' another fan wondered.

Yep, it looks like Watson found herself in a pretty sticky situation after just one careless comment.
