Donnie Wahlberg Confirms What We Suspected All Along About Bruce Willis' On-Set Demeanor
The two actors shared an important moment during the filming of The Sixth Sense.
Donnie Wahlberg has been associated with New Kids on the Block for so long that not every fan knew that he had acting credits before Blue Bloods, which he has been starring in successfully for 13 years now.
However, Donnie had been acting long before the police procedural show was created, and one of his most popular roles was in the iconic movie The Sixth Sense, where he had a small but very important role alongside Bruce Willis.
In the movie, Donnie played a tortured soul who attempted to shoot Willis' Malcolm Crowe, his former psychologist, and then took his own life right in front of him. The scene was quite grueling to watch and especially to shoot, but it looks like Willis was supportive of his younger co-star throughout the entire filming process, as Donnie recently revealed.
'Even the scene that we did together, it's one scene, but I was watching him and as out of my mind as I was on that day, I was like, "He's so technical. He hits his mark and then he goes to the emotion." He was just so helpful and supportive. He was so humble and curious and not assuming anything and not presumptuous,' Donnie said to Entertainment Weekly.
Bruce Willis is now fighting his diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia, and his family and Hollywood as a whole are supporting him with his struggles. While he has retired from acting due to his illness, Willis' former co-stars are still grateful to him for all the support and inspiration he gave them at one time.
Donnie Wahlberg is among those actors, as he noted that Willis helped him to really understand how beautiful acting can be, and the experience of working with him has influenced the actor's career in a great way.
Fans thank Donnie for sharing these tender memories of working with the action star, as now is the right time for everyone to honor Willis' legacy.
