Everyone needs a good binge every now and then...

If you're looking for your next binge, you can't go wrong with any of these:

1. The Sopranos

Almost 25 years after it first aired, this is still the show to beat. Tony Soprano is a New Jersey mob boss trying to balance the pressures of his work with a rather chaotic family life. It's arguably the most true-to-life gangster show ever and was groundbreaking when it first came out. Get ready for sex, violence, humour and some pretty underhand tactics at times.

2. Chernobyl

We all know what happened, but that doesn't stop this from being a gripping drama. From how the problems at Chernobyl came about, to what the authorities did then, to the sh*t that went down and the legacy it left, it's all covered in this show that you won't be able to take your eyes off. It's a five-part miniseries that's utterly compelling and could easily be watched in one night.

3. Better Call Saul

Fans are divided on whether this prequel to Breaking Bad is as good as the original show, or just about as good. Either way, you can be sure it's right up there. Bob Odenkirk stars as Jimmy McGill, a former con artist who is training to be a lawyer and will become Saul Goodman, who viewers may remember from being on both sides of the law in Breaking Bad.

4. The Shield

If you like a show about maverick cops, this might be right up your street. Set in the fictional LA district of Farmington, an experimental unit of the LAPD is prepared to do whatever it takes to win the war against the gangs that have taken control of the city. Well-rounded characters you'll love and hate make for a very bingeable show. But brace yourself - there are 7 seasons and 88 episodes to get through.

5. Justified

A clash of the ages, this show follows the exploits of Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, an old-school lawman working in the modern age. His outdated and unconventional methods put him at odds with criminals and the authorities. They call his ways extreme. He calls them justified. After shooting a known killer, Givens is called back to the town where he was born and raised - and where he thought he'd left for good.
