NXT collides with TNA in a first-of-its-kind Showdown, with three cross-promotional matches already locked in and more expected. Catch the special Tuesday, October 7.

WWE is doing something I didn't have on my bingo card: NXT and TNA are teaming up for a live crossover special called NXT Showdown. It's a legit first for WWE's developmental brand, the kind of thing that makes the wrestling timeline feel very 2025. Three matches are locked in now, and there's room for more to be added before the bell.

When and where to watch

Live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. In the U.S., it airs on The CW.

  • Pacific Time: 5:00 PM, Tuesday, October 7, 2025
  • Eastern Time: 8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 7, 2025
  • UK (BST): 1:00 AM, Wednesday, October 8, 2025
  • Arabia Standard Time: 3:00 AM, Wednesday, October 8, 2025
  • India (IST): 5:30 AM, Wednesday, October 8, 2025
  • Australia (ACST): 9:30 AM, Wednesday, October 8, 2025

The card (so far)

Two Survivor Series-style elimination matches lead the way, plus a tag-team title-for-title bout with winner-takes-all stakes. NXT and TNA are literally squaring up to see who walks out with bragging rights.

Men's Survivor Series Elimination Match

NXT: Ricky Saints, Trick Williams, Je'Von Evans, and Myles Borne vs TNA: Mike Santana, Moose, Frankie Kazarian, and Leon Slater.

Inside baseball: yes, Trick Williams is the reigning TNA World Champion while wrestling on Team NXT. Welcome to the multiverse.

Women's Survivor Series Elimination Match

NXT: Jacy Jayne, Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker, and Lola Vice vs TNA: Kelani Jordan, Jessie McKay, Cassie Lee, and Mara Sadé.

More crossover wrinkles: Kelani Jordan currently holds the TNA Knockouts Championship but is actually signed to NXT. And Mara Sadé used to wrestle in NXT as Jakara Jackson. It's messy in a fun way.

Title-for-Title Tag Team Championship Match

NXT Tag Team Champions DarkState vs TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz.

Both sets of belts are on the line. Whoever wins leaves with everything. That means the NXT duo could walk out as dual champs — and do it by beating Matt and Jeff Hardy, which is quite the receipt for the resume.

Expect more matches to get announced as we get closer.

About that name change

This special was originally promoted as 'Invasion' — a throwback to WWE's 2001 branding — until someone in Stamford looked at the calendar. October 7 also marks the 2023 Hamas attack on Israel, and the optics were not great. Israeli outlet Israel Hayom called it out, noting both the name and a logo that emphasized a red capital 'V' that critics compared to Hamas's red inverted triangle.

"The term Invasion, on such a sensitive date, which directly recalls the infiltration of Hamas terrorists into the southern communities and the mass killings of Israelis and Americans, raises questions about who in the organisation is responsible for this preposterous decision."

WWE quietly pivoted from 'Invasion' to 'Showdown' via a short Santino Marella promo and moved on — which, frankly, was the only play to avoid an unintentional mess.

Bottom line: first-ever NXT/TNA crossover, champions wrestling across brand lines, a winner-takes-all tag title match, and it's on broadcast TV. Weird? A little. Interesting? Definitely. Who you got?
