Space adventure for the whole family.

In early December, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew was released on Disney+ – a story about teenagers who accidentally traveled to a galaxy far, far away.

The first episodes garnered record low ratings for Star Wars projects, but both critics and viewers were pleased with the finale – the series has a 91% and 81% freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

What Is Star Wars: Skeleton Crew About?

The suspiciously wealthy planet of At Attin is sealed off from the rest of the world by a barrier that is strictly forbidden to cross.

Its inhabitants have been undergoing aptitude tests since childhood, preparing to become part of the mysterious Great Cause, but some of them dream of something else entirely. Fidget Wim wants more than anything to become a Jedi and fight evil.

His favorite game is fighting with imaginary lightsabers with his best friend Neel. Rebel student Fern and her cybernetic friend KB love speed and want to participate in a flying bike race.

One day the four find an abandoned spaceship in the woods, climb inside and are accidentally transported to the other side of the galaxy.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Is a Perfect Choice for Teenagers

Without betraying the ideals of the adventure classics, Skeleton Crew not only entertains young viewers, but also helps them grow up: it teaches them to adapt to a complex world and accept its ambiguity, it teaches them the importance of trusting themselves and not being afraid to ask for help.

If your child has already outgrown Young Jedi Adventures, Skeleton Crew is a great way to introduce them to the Star Wars universe.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Also Captivates Adults with Its Intrigue

While it may seem like the series is geared exclusively for a teen audience, Skeleton Crew may also be of interest to an adult audience.

The Star Wars franchise is regularly replenished with new projects, but not all of them can boast a coherent plot and well-developed characters – the story of Jon Watts and Christopher Ford manages this.

The main intrigue of the series – the mystery of the planet At Attin – is truly captivating. We are hearing about it for the first time, and most of the inhabitants of the galaxy consider its history a fairy tale: it is said to hold the treasures of the Old Republic that no one has ever seen.

What these treasures are, and from whom they are hidden, the viewer will find out over time: the mystery is gradually revealed, and with it, the horizons of the Star Wars universe are gradually expanded.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Is a Nostalgic and Heartwarming Show

Those who grew up with Star Wars will easily recognize themselves in the restless schoolchildren who dream of space and believe in the inevitable victory of light over darkness.

Telling the story of the characters' return home, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew briefly transports the viewer to a carefree childhood. And it is definitely worth spending a few evenings watching the series.
