Disney+ is celebrating Home Alone’s 35th anniversary with a slate of playful tributes—headlined by a fresh, hilarious way for subscribers to experience the Macaulay Culkin classic like never before.

Home Alone turns 35 this year, and Disney+ is celebrating by going big, weird, and very on-theme. We’re talking a shout-to-stream trick, a giant gingerbread McCallister house, real-life Little Nero’s pizza, and even airport perks for people named Kevin. It’s a lot, in a fun way.

"Disney+ is excited to celebrate a movie that’s become such a holiday staple for families everywhere, mine included. We can’t wait to bring elements from the film into the real world so people can experience them up close, and if they share my enthusiasm, finally order 'a lovely cheese pizza just for me' from Little Nero’s."

— Zack Jerome, Disney+ executive

The shout-to-stream trick

From December 19 through 31, VIZIO users with a VIZIO Voice Remote can launch straight into Home Alone on the Disney+ app by saying (or, let’s be honest, yelling) "KEVIN!" into the remote. It’s a wink to Catherine O’Hara’s legendary airplane freak-out when she realizes they left Kevin at home. Simple, silly, and very in the spirit of the movie.

A gingerbread McCallister house, supersized

Disney+ and Hulu are building a record-chasing gingerbread version of the McCallister home, aiming to beat a Guinness World Records title that’s stood since 2013. This thing is massive: 58 feet long, 42 feet wide, and 25.6 feet tall. You can see it in person at Hollywood and Vine in Los Angeles, open to the public in the evenings on December 18 and 19. Yes, they turned the Home Alone house into a walk-up spectacle. I respect the commitment.

Little Nero’s, but make it real

The fictional pizza joint gets a real-world pop-up with Prince St. Pizza from December 10 to 17. Locations nationwide will use Little Nero’s pizza boxes, roll out updated menus, and offer collectible packaging. Pizzerias in Chicago and Toronto are going further with Little Nero’s decor and branding touches, while Prince St. Pizza’s Studio City spot in Los Angeles is getting a full interior-and-exterior makeover. They’re even parking the Little Nero’s delivery car out front for the photo you know you’re going to take.

Airport perk: No Kevin Left Behind

From December 17 to 21, Disney+ is teaming with CLEAR on a 'No Kevin Left Behind' activation at nine major U.S. airports. CLEAR+ Members can snag limited-edition Home Alone ornaments to brighten up a travel day. And if your name is Kevin and you use select CLEAR+ lanes, you could get a code for a complimentary CLEAR Concierge service on a future trip. Not a bad time to be a Kevin.

Quick Home Alone refresher

The franchise kicked off with the 1990 original starring Macaulay Culkin, directed by Chris Columbus from a John Hughes concept. It was the biggest box office hit of that year, pulling in $476.6 million worldwide. There are six films total; only the first two star Culkin. The most recent entry, Home Sweet Home Alone, debuted on Disney+ in 2021.
